Drag bingo, champagne and scary movies!

What do you do when have have no plans?  Get funky and make your own fun around town. So when 3 out of the 4 of us have a free Wednesday drag bingo at Hamburger Mary's called our name. Parlay that with the charity this particular night was for one of Leslie's nearest and dearest (girls on the Run Kansas City http://m.gotrkc.org/) and we were totally in.

Beers + Drag Bingo = a great Wednesday night!

We always like giving to charity but when a competition is on the line with strangers we're extra in!! Give us daubers and a burger as big as our faces and "it's on"! Andrea and I won, no big deal, but all of us had a great time raising money for Leslie's favorite local charity. Even my mom made it out with us and loved the performance by our MC!

Do you ever wake up early on a Saturday morning and think to yourself..I bet people are working out. Well it turns out Kristi was in a competition so Leslie, Andrea and myself did what any good friends would do and went down to the gym to support her (with bottles of champagne)! Yes we drank in the gym as people lifted/hung/flung and ran but deep down we knew they wanted to be us. By the end of the competition Kristi and her partner dominated and we found out Leslie can catch airbound corks in cups while running through a parking lot while tailgating a fitness competition. We were all exhausted by the afternoon!

Don't worry we regrouped a handful of hours later for a Chili cook off and scary movie night. Fall sangria, boos and exorbitant amounts of Chili is just what a fall evening called for. My sister, Mariah, joined us and even touted she was bringing the winning Chili! Let's just say that out of the 5 batches of chili there was a 4 way tie for not being as bad as my sisters! Sorry we're not sorry and never bring that crap again.

Mmm sangria!

Mmm sangria!

After stuffing our faces it was time for scary movies! You know that movie that scared the crap out of you in 1999? Don't try to watch it again or it'll be ruined with common sense and wisdom. Such was the case with the original Blair Witch! I remember watching this movie in the theater and being actually scared and thinking to myself this could happen in real life. Uh, NO! We all just looked at each other during the movie and was like are you kidding me and wanted to kill the characters ourselves! It was way different than any of us remember so try not to go down movie memory lane because it's closed.

Yes this is a scary movie, not me in the morning.

After a frightful night we thought it best to wash our night of "terror"  away with Bloody Mary's. It totally helped us start our separate, productive Sunday away from each other.

However before we parted ways some genius *ahem* wanted to get one last shot of the gang in all of our Sunday morning glory. I don't know why taking a picture of our heads together on a living room floor was so funny but we (except Leslie) couldn't stop laughing! When we eventually post our head shots on this blog just remember this photo..because this is the real us.

Why so funny?

Stay sexy and don't get murdered!
