It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Our weekend didn't start out together but oh did we come together! The order of Saturday was to meet Maureen at her horse club, fittingly named Saddle and Sirloin. This private equine facility and shooting sports club was magical. It's a place where you can relax in the country without leaving the city.
Maureen showed us all around the property of 300+ acres. There are so many barns, woody areas and trails! We went to go pet Maureen's horse Jag and everything was right in the world until it wasn't. Enter Elaine! She was a wobbly, troll looking lady who hated life. She actually told us to take our laughter outside and then we could come back in the barn. As if!!! We decided it was best to leave at that point otherwise things would not have gone well for Elaine.
Sunday we headed over to the Daniel's residence for our annual cookie exchange party. Girls bring 2 dozen of their favorite cookie and guys bring an appetizer to share. This always coincides with an away Chiefs game so we can watch/cheer together. Andrea made an amazing champagne welcome drink and Cody and Lee won the appetizer contest. The Chiefs pulled out some trick plays and won the game and everyone left full and happy!
As a treat for all you readers I'm including a Thursday night activity as well. Ever heard of Thursday Night Football? Yeah we went! It was Raiders week so we HAD to go! A big thank you goes out to the Misejka's for the tickets. What wasn't great was the weather. I think the wind chill took temps down in the teens but we didn't care! Until we stood in line to use the port a potty and then promptly decided to cargate because, shit it was cold out!!
We drank our hot cider and ate delicious chili and then made the dash to Arrowhead where we were greated by a rambunctious section. We saw a number of pictures of Bancock and met a man who was dressed like he had just come off the set of Hot Tub Time Machine. Leslie and I, on one of our beer/bathroom runs, saved a lady from a bathroom stall. Leslie stood on a chair trying to jimmy the lock but to no avail so I army crawled under the door and finally we got that stuck lock to move. High five!
The game was loud, cold and a blast! We yelled, danced, celebrated the little things and made new friends along the way. How did the game turn out? The Chiefs took down those first place Raiders to claim the top spot in the AFC West. Playoffs here we come!!
Until next time my friends.
