We have all tried one of the painting classes, you know an artist shows you how simple making art is and the more wine you drink you start believing you really are talented. My aunt decided to bring the painting class to us. In hindsight it was probably because she was embarrassed to claim all of us in public. We celebrated my cousin's 40th birthday with an at home painting party!
Bringing a painting class to your living room with about 20 people could potentially be a disaster. Thanks to Apple Pie Painting there was no mess and everything we could possible need was provided. Of course she included the essential paint, canvases & brushes but she also supplied paint clothes to cover every square inch of the living room, our own aprons and an easel for all of the budding artists.
If you enjoy drinking a little wine, since you are reading this blog I assume you do, then you will be able to relate to the progression of our evening.
Leslie & I arrived at my aunts house and greeted an unsuspecting woman unloading large bags from her vehicle by flashing our brights at her. It was not our cousin as we originally thought, turns out it was our painting instructor for the evening. Naturally we were off to a great start. Once we were inside the spread of food and wine was available. Naturally we headed straight for the wine. We did snack on items that did not require a plate because if you don't need a plate you don't have to count the calories.
Nearly a bottle of wine in, now let's paint! We were conveniently seated next to the birthday girl. (She was more than a bottle in but we weren't there to judge!)
The birthday girl was inspired as her palate for wine and painting were equally matched.
Leslie proved to be quite talented, she could mix the paint to create the most beautiful shades of gray one has ever encountered.
Now several bottles down Magan called for assistance as three hands are always better than one.
The end result is something you would expect to see in your doctor's waiting room: local art at its finest.
Forgive the terrible lighting, but this Brady Bunch inspired photo is clearly going to be a family scrap book staple for years to come.
If you are looking for a fun activity with friends or family I highly recommend bringing the painting party to you. Contact Apple Pie Painting and you are sure to have an excellent experience!
