As Frank the Tank might say… We planned a pretty nice little Saturday; we're going to go to the farmer’s market. Yeah, buy some vegetables; maybe get some plants, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. We didn’t hit up Bed Bath and Beyond, but we did have a nice little Saturday.
Steph and I ended up getting plants from the farmer’s market and Andrea grabbed some flavored pasta, but that is about it from this little excursion to the Overland Park Farmer’s Market opening day. After the market, we walked around Old OP to check out some of the stores. We ran into a true farmer who was very concerned about my plant…my black thumb is already taking over! Luckily, he brought it back to life with water (who knew?) and gave me some tips to keep it alive. I think he is worried about the poor plant. I told him I would google more tips to take care of it, but I don’t think he is convinced that I will keep it alive. I’m pretty sure I will show him when I get my own booth at the market selling jalapenos from my one plant! #NewCareer
Shopping made us very hungry, so it was time to find food! If you like wings (and who doesn’t?!?!?!), The Peanut is a must in KC. We grabbed some beers and wings for lunch, well most of us grabbed beers and wings. Andrea said wine not to wine and wings…weird combo, but no judgments here…okay a little bit…but she was happy. Notice no wing pics…too messy and delicious and so worth it!
Ohhh....look, a wine tasting!
We all had good intentions of heading home to get ready for the dog park when we stumbled upon a wine tasting. MUST STOP FOR WINE!!! (I feel like that should be a law or at least a strong suggestion.) We found local wine maker, Aubrey, and tasted ALL of the wines. 12 in total and they were all fun and unique. They had a honey wine which was surprisingly well balanced and delicious-great for a hot day. They even have a Trail Rider blend series with some fun labels. Andrea’s mother-in law (hi Maureen!) loves trail riding and wine, so these are perfect for her!
After the tasting and wine purchase it was time to pick up the pups for their day of fun! It is impossible to get 4 dogs to sit down and look at a camera, but we tried and did not succeed. They had a blast running and playing with each other and the dog park. #bestfriends
We also picked up an unfiltered adventurer in training. Steph’s niece looks too cute in our signature Faded Days shades not to be our summer intern!
Also as a bonus-this weekend Kristi, Andrea and I hit up Yoga in the Vines at Stone Pillar winery. The yoga was a great mix of strength and stretching. I must admit that I am definitely not flexible, but that is the point right? Or is the point to do a wine tasting after? Well, either way…yoga and wine was great and we will be back!!!
Have a great week! Cheers!
