It’s not every day you get to go to one of the most beautiful buildings in Kansas City and listen to a pair of comedians talk about murder....so when that opportunity arose we jumped on it! Have you ever heard of the podcast My Favorite Murder? Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark are brilliantly funny about an otherwise dark topic. They each review a true crime on a weekly basis and put a comedic spin on it like you’ve never heard before.
After that teaser let’s back it up to our pre show. We’ve been trying to get to SoT for about 3 months and we finally made it! It’s a hip bar that offers high-level cocktails and light bites. Starting at 12:00 in the picture and going around clockwise we tried The Pina Maria (Amaro Montenegro, Caribbean Pineapple, Bourbon, Lemon, Rosewater-Cardamom Syrup, Boulevard Pale Ale) the Saxon Violins (Dried Coconut & Chai Tea Infused Scotch, Blackcurrant, Lime, Burlesque Bitters, Maple-Honey) What Bees do During Winter (Indian Spice Infused Gin, Lemon, Honey, Carrot-Coconut Foam) and Campfire and Ghost Stories (Smoked Calvados, J Rieger Whiskey, Demerara, Walnut & Angostura Bitters) We ate the charcuterie board, empanadas and the meatballs. We all agreed the meatballs were the best of the 3.
Now back to the show! Each time I go back to the midland I forget how pretty it is. The show was so funny and the most memorable story was the Unimaginable, Unforgetable case of Pam Hupp. Check it out if your get a chance! https://www.stlmag.com/longform/pam-hupp/ What a psycho!
After the show we grabbed some dinner and waited/danced while our uber found us. Another glorious night for the 4 best friends that anyone could have!
