We set out on a fun adventure in Colorado last weekend to start the birthday celebration for Stephanie. We hit the road with some box wine and plans to hit up the Applebees in Hays.
After the pit stop, we made our way to the condo in Georgetown. First things first-try on the old ski gear!
Then off to happy hour! Check out this view! Great beer + great friends + this view=a very great happy hour!!!
When in Georgetown-breakfast at the Happy Cooker is a must...or brunch if you make birthday cake mimosas first! Yes, you read that right. Vanilla vodka, ice cream, and champs or rose...with a frosting and sprinkles rim. They were an interesting combo, but looked so cute!
Or you can just do this.....aka-how Billy puts up with us!
Back to the Happy Cooker that I mentioned earlier. They have delicious breakfast and lunch fare. Check out this waffle with bacon in the batter and topped with eggs-over easy is the only option for how to get your eggs cooked per Steph!
After we fueled up for the day, we headed to Breckenridge to check out a new to us brewery. Broken Compass was a hit. I loved the Coconut Porter, but really everything was good. We tried a flight and everyone chose their faves. Plus it was dog friendly, so we were in heaven playing with the various pups.
Next up, we headed into Breck for a little shopping, finding "art", and look what we found...Breckenridge Brewery! A crowd favorite is their Vanilla Porter...so we obviously grabbed a round of those before heading back to the condo.
What do you do at night in Georgetown? Last time we went to Mother's, but this time we did a Girl Scout Cookie and Beer pairing. I mean cookies and beer...okay!
Time to hit the slopes...and shred the mountain. We drove up to Arapahoe Basin (which is open until June 4th) to have some fun. Billy is pretty much an expert and Kristi and Steph did AWESOME!! Andrea and I took a lesson and gave it a go. Let's just say we are more of a danger to others than ourselves, so we stuck to the kiddie area. Those 4 year olds really showed us up!
Andrea and I decided to stick to what we know and had a couple of drinks while we watched people ski and board. Check out that Bloody Mary that Andrea ordered. Well done! The others joined us after a bit and we all hung out for a bit recapping the awesome day!
We headed back to Cooper's, the new restaurant in Georgetown for dinner. Happy hour is excellent-stick to the apps and drinks. The meals were just okay for the price. We will be back for sure...those mussels and chicken skewers were fantastic!
A few more mountain pics just for fun. Oh and how the post got the title...we saw some bros getting ready to mountain bike down from where most of these pics were taken. All they needed were the jean jackets they were wearing and a dream! We will miss you Colorado...until next time!
