Reunited!!! We FINALLY got to all hang out together again this week. Man I missed these girls!
Thursday night, Andrea, Stephanie and I met up at Parisi coffee for a coffee and bourbon tasting. Parisi is a cute little shop in Park Place, so it was fun to check it out, people watch, and relax. Kristi passed on this event since she is not a coffee fan nor a straight bourbon fan. Tom's Town bourbon barrels were used to roast the coffee and the rep showed up to let us taste the coffee and liquor. He also made us a mini old fashioned that was a delicious break from all of the strong flavors! Our next stop was a quick beer at Gordon Biersch and then Steph and I headed off to sand volleyball to freeze our booty's off!
First Friday in Kansas City is a big deal! The first Friday of each month brings everyone down to the Crossroads District for parties, art, and fun. Andrea's husband, Billy, happens to work for a fun company called SoftVu in the Crossroads. They had an awesome event to benefit Giving the Basics. Giving the Basics provides the necessities of life, not covered by government assistance programs, that most people take for granted such as laundry soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper and other personal care hygiene products.
When there is an option to do an adult Easter egg hunt, you will find us there!! Kegs n Eggs is a mix between a craft beer festival and an egg hunt. We did not find any eggs, but we found lots of beers...and the Easter Bunny!
Since it is spring, there were lots of IPA's, sour beers, and a few wild cards mixed in. I am not an IPA fan, so I used the rinse bucket fairly often...and I hate pouring out beer. Luckily the rinse water was clearly labeled. Great tip, Kegs n Eggs!! I did find a delicious new to me beer. Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar is a fantastic mix of sweet, nutty, and smooth!
Clearly we all had a great time!!! Sunshine and beer...what more could you ask for??
