Our first Unfiltered birthday celebration of the year goes to Stephanie! Since we were driving home from Colorado on her actual birthday, we celebrated this last weekend with a Tacos and Tequila party! Stephanie's sister and brother-in-law hosted the party at their house and had some top notch decorations going on!
Stephanie used this day as an excuse to empty out all the nearly empty bottles of tequila in her liquor cabinet. I didn't get a picture of it, but I guestimate there were 10 different bottles of tequila with no less than 2 shots left in them! I'm pretty sure this group is always up for a challenge. Food wise, we had an incredible spread of beef, chicken, and fish tacos with toppings galore. Numerous side dishes also found their way to our plates. I'm not gonna lie, it was a great dinner enjoyed with several friends!
After dinner and a few drinks, the lights dimmed and the laser lights came on. It was time for the 3rd annual Lip Sync Battle!! There were some great performances that included Mariah as Ursula, Andrea and Krystal as Dr. Dre and Snoop, and Stephanie as Cyndi Lauper with a winning rendition of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". You would think I would have a picture of Stephanie's performance, but I was too busy laughing and cheering to get one - blogger fail!!
So what could possibly top an epic Lip Sync Battle? Nothing other than a pinata filled with candy AND miniature alcohol bottles! The top 3 placers in Lip Sync Battle got to hit first with the kids finishing off the poor pinata (and me and Leslie diving on the floor for said airplane bottles)!
Sunday morning belonged to bottomless mimosas and brunch. We headed to Brickhouse (formerly Barrel 31) in Martini Corner. Unfortunately, we had to sit inside this year due to a heavy downpour of rain. Rain can't hold us down! We enjoyed those mimosas, bloody marys, and burritos (because we didn't have enough Mexican to eat the night before!). My table's orders consisted mainly of the Breakfast Burrito which we each found to be pretty inconsistent in flavor due to the wrong special order burritos getting to the wrong individuals. I believe I heard the Breakfast Burger was fantastic as they have now added peanut butter to the fried egg and bacon on top! Wow!! All in all, I would go back to Brickhouse if we were able to sit outside, but would definitely try something besides the breakfast burrito. I do give them props for accommodating a party of 20ish inside and allowing us to have separate checks - a win-win for this group!!
We've had quite a bit of rain these last few weeks and I think the Adventurers are ready for Spring and Summer with many more adventures to write about. Hope you all have a great week and we'll be back next Friday as we have a very fun weekend coming up! Stay tuned!
