Last weekend we found ourselves with no planned activities! Completely unacceptable for Unfiltered Adventure. When we don't have plans, we typically don't know what to do with ourselves...so, we made last minute plans! Friday evening the temperature finally dropped below 90 so we decided to head downtown to a place we all have wanted to try: SoT. Unfortunately, that plan fell through due to a bad wreck causing the highway to be shut down (thankfully only one injury and no fatalities were reported!). We hope to make it downtown this upcoming weekend so check back next week for our recap! Thankfully, we are all swift thinkers and moved our happy hour to KC Bier Co. You may remember that we visited this place for my birthday! Billy and Bobby joined in on the fun and we sipped some Hefeweizen on the patio. We caught each other up on our week, had some laughs, and even somehow got to planning a modern day "The Dating Game" for the single UA ladies and some poor, unlucky resident of Andrea's! Cheers to that embarrassment!!
Saturday we ventured out to KC Wine Co to celebrate National Mutt Day! KC Wine Co hosted a Mutts & Merlot event outside where you could bring your dog and enjoy wine flights, snacks, games, and live music. I'd never been to this winery and was excited to check it out. They have a large outdoor area with picnic tables, yard games, and a stage for live music. We didn't manage to do wine flights or drink Merlot, but we certainly entertained ourselves with our new friends Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Cayuga White!
The actual winery looks like a half barrel and is beautiful inside. The indoor space is referred to as The Barrel Room and houses the tasting room and can accommodate private parties up to 100 people. It would be a fantastic space for a wedding or bridal shower. Maybe if The Dating Game works out...
A few of the yard games included chipping golf balls in the vineyard, giant chess, washers, bags and giant Yahtzee. What a fun way to spend a gorgeous day outside laughing with friends and listening to live music!!
And, we can't forget about the "mutt" part of the event. Between the four of us, we have 5 dogs and were able to get them all together for a playdate! They all did so well on their leashes and with the other dogs and managed to not tangle themselves up too much (they usually get to play freely in our back yards!).
These five quite possibly could be "The five best friends that anyone could have". I hope you sang that the way I did when I wrote it! Here are a few more pics of the pups...and us! Hope you have a fantastic week and we'll be back next week with more fun KC experiences!
