Did you know Applebee’s has All You Can Eat Wings right now? We heard through the grapevine that this really was a thing and decided to check it out for ourselves! Now, I’m not a huge fan of wings…or all you can eat…but a few of us in UA were in heaven when we got to Applebee’s and they indeed were offering endless boneless wings in any flavor of your choice. This immediately turned into a wing eating contest between Stephanie and Andrea. Leslie and I opted for other items on the menu. Stephanie is not one to back down from an eating challenge and I’ve never seen Andrea participate in one, so clearly my money was on Stephanie. My, oh my, was I WRONG. Andrea is a champ at eating contests. I think between the two of them they went through 6 or 7 plates of wings…and fries! Oh, and Brewtus’. Why does Applebee’s have the coldest beer in town? I think these pictures captured the true essence of what went down that night!
On Saturday, it was time for our annual Beer Olympics. Our good friends Justin and Janelle hosted and unfortunately the weather didn’t want to cooperate. Luckily, they were prepared with new indoor games for us to play! We had a huge turnout of over 25 people and got the brackets filled quickly. My favorite game is Roll, Shoot, Flip. We had to roll a dice, take that number of drinks, bounce a quarter into a cup and then do a flip cup challenge as fast as possible. This game is generally my strongest, but unfortunately, I drew Billy in the first round. He annihilated me for my first first round exit of the day!
Jenga was another game of choice. I’ve never seen so many intense games of Jenga in my life!! There were some epic battles that literally came down to the last possible block. Stephanie represented UA with pride as she took this game.
New to our indoor Olympics this year was Giant Connect Four. This game seems so simple…until you get beat. Just ask Stephanie.
Beer pong was our only outdoor activity this year and was played under the deck to keep us out of the rain. I don’t think any of us ever fair to well on this game. However, Cody and Paul had a pretty intense finale!
Our other new game was played on the pool table and was a mix of shuffle board and pool. Big round of applause to Janelle for making this one up on a whim. You would also think she would have practiced more being the only person who knew what the game was going to be! Burn!! Just kidding Janelle, we love you!
I didn’t get any pictures of the last game but it was similar to a bags game…but for indoors! Big thanks again to Justin and Janelle for always being the best hosts. We had such a great time and many, many laughs. Until next year…when Leslie, Andrea, and Kristi (AND JUSTIN AND JANELLE) are totally due for a medal!
