I know that I promised a Colorado recap from my trip a few weeks ago in last week’s post. Turns out, we went to the brewery, hiked, and did the normal Georgetown things. If you are new to the blog, check out some of our older posts to find out why we love this little town west of Denver so much!
Last weekend was all about out our favorites-Charities and of course, celebrating Veterans! Saturday started off VERY cold. My weather app said “Feels Like: 6 degrees”.
What else would I do besides layer up and head to the Girls on the Run 5K?!?!
I’ve been volunteering with this organization for 4+ years. The girls are so fun and their energy is contagious! This race brings together all of the Girls on the Run teams in the KC metro area. It is very pink, very crowded, and very fun. You won’t get a PR, but you will laugh and cheer more than any other race. I got to run with one of the girls on my team. She was quiet and determined and managed to run the whole race. I am beyond proud!
Next stop, a warmer activity. I talked Andrea into meeting me to Pedal For Parkinsons. My friend Sarah Lord has a team under the Team Fox organization that honors her dad Wally and does Parkinson's Research. You may recognize the I Run 4 Wally shirt from this post.
Sunday was Veteran’s Day (recognized on Monday-I know) and the Chiefs pulled out all of the stops! I was lucky enough to get work tickets to go to the game. Tanks outside, parachutes with flags, a fly over, and an awesome National Anthem kicked off (get it?) a great game!
In other news: A new mini tour started at OC and we are on it! You should join too! The Christmas Beer List looks great and the pullover is way cuter in person!
Until next time friends!
