Without further ado - meet the newest Adventurer!  This is Newman.  Newman is a four month old Australian Cattle Dog and was adopted by Stephanie from Great Plains SPCA on August 12th.  He is named after Badger's registered name and is already on his way to earning as many nicknames as Big Brown himself!  We miss you Reggie!  Newman is a bundle of energy who has already stolen our hearts, learned his name and how to sit in his first week! 

On Saturday we met at the local Leawoof Dog Park and Stephanie surprised everyone by showing up with Newman.  He met his new pack of dog friends and we thought, "Could It Be?".  Yes, they are now the 5 best friends that anyone could have!  Remember our post on the human 24 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have?  After the dog park, Andrea and Billy invited us and the dogs over for an afternoon of sun and swimming.  Newman was so exhausted from his time at the park that he slept in the shade all day.  Porter, Barley, and Sullivan swam their little hearts out while Riley pouted the day away.  Maybe she is sad she is not the new puppy anymore?!?  Doubt it - she is just a diva!  We should have attempted a group dog photo, but we didn't get a chance.  So, here are a few pics of the dogs enjoying the day!

Now, let's back it up to Friday night.  We started our evening at The Monarch Cocktail Bar & Lounge for a few hand crafted cocktails and enough potato chips to feed one very small child.  We all chose different cocktails so we could share and try new things.  Round one consisted of The Carriage Club, The Viceroy Revisited, Pick-Me-Down and the Reduro.  They were all tasty but I was partial to the freshness of the Viceroy.  Round two led us to the Seveneves, Orange Whip, Cold Brew Martini, and the Strawberry Hill.  As a non coffee lover, I actually liked the Cold Brew Martini made with Thou Mayest cold brew.  I was also partial to the Orange Whip as it was made with Fanta!  Don't cha wanna Fanta, Fanta?

After drinks and 2 chips, we made our way over to Parker at The Fontaine, which is an American restaurant located on the top floor of The Fontaine hotel on the Country Club Plaza.  The restaurant offers seasonally driven cuisine using locally sourced ingredients along side hand crafted cocktails.  We skipped the cocktails here and headed straight to the wine list.  We split some Dark Horse Pinot Noir as we all know this wine well.  For an appetizer, we started with the Corn Bread and Cheese Board.  We had heard the Corn Bread was not to be missed and I was a fan.  There was a large amount of honey cream cheese topping the bread that may have thrown some of us off, but not me - give me ALL the cream cheese!  For dinner there was Cedar & Rosemary Salmon, Pan Seared Scallops, and the Strip Steak.  Everything was delicious and we would definitely head back.  The restaurant had a great view and the bar opened to the outdoor pool.  They offer live music and movie nights in the summer that sound like fun!  Check this place out if you get a chance!

We hope you are having a good week enjoying some of this cooler (and rainy) weather we are having in KC.  We have another fun filled weekend planned and can't wait for it to start.  Meanwhile, we will be working on getting these two out of the pool!
