I am finally getting over my bronchitis and although I am prescribed endless antibiotics I decided it was time to face the world again. What better way to announce my return to society than heading to Taco Topia. Imagine tacos as far as the eye can see, bottomless beers flowing, a chihuahua pageant , yard games, live music and the main event midget wrestling. As soon as the event was announced we immediately signed up!
Unfortunately the event was cancelled and rescheduled for February and moved indoors. Scratch the previous description of an euphoric Taco Topia experience and you get the reality: long lines for $2 tacos, more lines for $7 tiny margaritas, no chihuahuas, no yard games, DJ Bobby was there but it seems he was playing his iTunes playlist while he was in line for tacos, and most importantly there was no wrestling. What the heck did we sign up for?!?
The tacos were pretty good. We tried 4 different stations and several varieties. Once the reality set in that we paid to attend the event where few of the promised activities were offered and we were standing in what seemed to be never ending lines we came to our senses and headed to the nearest bar.
Danny’s Bar and Grill on Parallel Parkway was the next stop. We needed cold beers to wash down the disappointment of Taco Topia.
It was great to get out and spend some quality time with friends and tacos.
